FLUX or Nano Banana: which makes better images?

Nano Banana gives more control over the shape of the image: more aspect ratios and an explicit choice of resolution. FLUX gives more input when editing: it accepts more photos at once than Nano Banana. What is FLUX better at?

FLUX has several text-to-image variants, from very fast to professional. The fast one is among the cheapest ways to see what an idea looks like, and the professional one is for the final.

For editing, FLUX accepts more input images than Nano Banana. Check the "Most images at once" row: when you're building a composition from several sources — a product, a background, a person — this is exactly the limit you'll run into.

FLUX aspect ratios are the standard set for ads and print. They cover almost everything you'll need, without making you choose between eleven options.

What is Nano Banana better at?

Nano Banana offers an explicit choice of resolution — something FLUX doesn't give for images. For material that will be printed or cropped, that's the difference between usable and unusable.

It has almost twice as many aspect ratios as FLUX, including widescreen and automatic. For banners and non-standard formats, that saves cropping afterwards.

Nano Banana accepts a very long prompt and has variants for both generation and editing. In other words, one and the same brand covers both modes, with price tiers in each.

Where does each of the two fall short — FLUX and Nano Banana?

Where Nano Banana loses. When editing, it accepts fewer input images than FLUX. If your composition needs more sources at once, Nano Banana simply can't fit them. Its most expensive variant is also among the pricier image models here — see the price in the table.

Where FLUX loses. It has no explicit resolution choice for images and offers fewer aspect ratios. For print material this means you'll work with whatever the model gives you. When editing, FLUX also has only one variant — there is no cheap step for drafts.
