What LightX is

LightX is a tool for relighting video — that is, for changing the light in a clip you have already filmed. Instead of reshooting the scene under different light, you upload the video and describe the light you want, and the model relights the frame while keeping the action, the people and the objects in it.

The idea is simple: the same scene can look completely different depending on the lighting — a warm sunset, a cold night, soft studio light or bright midday sun. LightX gives you control over exactly that layer, without touching the composition or the motion.

In genkiki.com LightX is available as the “LightX Relight” mode in Video → Video — it works on a clip you upload, up to about 15 seconds long.

You can specify the light in four ways:

With a reference image — you supply an image with the lighting you like, and LightX tries to carry its mood and direction of light over onto your video.
With an HDR environment map — you set a map of the surrounding light so the lighting matches a specific setting.
With a background to match — you supply a background and the light on the subject is aligned with it, so it looks as if it really was filmed in that scene.

How to get started

Open the AI Studio at genkiki.com, choose the Video → Video mode and the LightX Relight model. Upload your clip (up to about 15 seconds), then set the light you want — with a description, a reference image, an HDR map or a background — and start the generation. If you are not sure, begin with a short text description of the mood and see the result before you try a reference image or a background.
