Which makes longer videos — Gemini Omni Flash or Veo?
Gemini Omni Flash. Gemini Omni Flash goes up to 10 seconds at a time, Veo — up to 8 seconds. Anything longer is made from several clips stitched together afterwards.

Gemini Omni Flash is a single model that covers four modes — text to video, image to video, references and reworking a finished clip. Veo is a specialized video model with the highest resolution on the platform. If you work in several modes and want the same result in all of them, pick Gemini Omni Flash. If you're making one shot that has to look expensive — Veo.
The price in credits is per SECOND of video and is shown on the “Generate” button before every run. The “Five seconds cost” row below is the same price multiplied by five.

The same name across four modes means the same behavior. A description that works for text to video carries over almost unchanged to image to video and to reworking a finished clip. When you switch brands between modes, that isn't the case.
Gemini Omni Flash accepts a very long description — the same order of magnitude as Veo. That means the versatility here isn't paid for with less control over the scene.
It also makes a longer clip than Veo. See the “Longest clip at once” row: the specialized model doesn't win on this measure.
Veo offers a resolution that Gemini Omni Flash doesn’t have. For a shot that will be viewed up close or cut in editing, this is decisive.
Veo has separate variants — standard and fast — so there is at least one step between draft and final. Gemini Omni Flash is a single model with a single price.
For image to video, Veo accepts more input photos than Gemini Omni Flash. The reference mode is exactly for the case where the same character or product has to stay recognizable.
Where Gemini Omni Flash falls short. It doesn't reach Veo's resolution. And it is a single model: if the shot doesn't come out right, there is no pricier variant of the same brand to move up to — you have to switch brands, and your style along with it.
Where Veo falls short. It makes a shorter clip and covers fewer modes. If your workflow also goes through reworking existing video, Veo simply doesn't take part in it and you will use another brand for that step — with the corresponding change of style.
Ask yourself how many modes you use. One mode and a high quality bar — Veo. Several modes and a need for consistency between them — Gemini Omni Flash.
The full map of the brand's four modes is on the Gemini Omni Flash page, and the overview of all video modes is on the AI video generator.

That the same brand accepts text, an image, references and a finished video as input. The result keeps a consistent character, instead of you switching style at every step.
Not at everything. Here the general-purpose one makes a longer clip and accepts just as long a prompt, but doesn't reach the specialized one's resolution.
