Which makes longer videos — Veo or Seedance?
Seedance. Veo goes up to 8 seconds at a time, Seedance — up to 10 seconds. Anything longer is made from several clips stitched together afterwards.
No such language.
Seedance makes the longest continuous clip on the platform — see the “Longest clip in one run” row in the table. Veo makes the clip with the highest resolution. That is the whole decision in one sentence: length against resolution. The price in credits per second for both is in the table and is read live, because the admin changes it.
The price in credits is per SECOND of video and is shown on the “Generate” button before every run. The “Five seconds cost” row below is the same price multiplied by five.

Veo is the model for a shot that will be viewed up close. It offers the highest resolution on the platform, and with video you can't make up resolution in editing — an enlarged frame stays an enlarged frame.
Veo accepts a very long description and actually uses it. When a scene has clothing, props, lighting and camera movement all at once, Veo has room to fit them all, instead of you squeezing them down to three words.
For photo-to-video, Veo has a separate mode with several reference photos — the same character from several angles. Seedance also has a references mode, but it is a separate mode, not an extension of photo-to-video.
Seedance holds the length record on the platform. A shot that other models assemble from three segments is a single run with Seedance. For a story with development — a person walks in, looks around, reaches for the product — that's the difference between a clip and a series of shots.
Seedance also has the most variants of any video brand: from light and cheap to the latest version. So you're not choosing between "Seedance or something cheaper", but between Seedance variants — the style stays the same while the price moves.
Seedance also offers a lower resolution for test runs, which Veo doesn't have. With a model priced per second, a thirty-second test at low resolution costs a fraction of the same test at high resolution.
Where Seedance loses. Seedance’s newest variant is among the most expensive models on the whole platform per second — check the price in the table before you run a long clip, because the price is multiplied by the seconds. Seedance also doesn’t state a limit on the description: that sounds like an advantage, but it means you have no way of knowing in advance where the model stops reading.
Where Veo loses. Veo cuts the clip off much earlier than Seedance. For a story with a beginning and an end, this is the bottleneck, and no resolution makes up for it. Veo also has fewer variants, so fewer steps between “draft” and “final”.
If the shot has to tell a story: Seedance. If the shot has to look expensive: Veo.
The practical rule with per-second pricing: find the shot on the cheapest variant at the lowest resolution, and only then run the final. With Seedance this saves the most, because it's exactly there that a long clip is the temptation.

Veo offers 720p, 1080p, 4k. Seedance offers 480p, 720p, 1080p. A higher resolution costs more credits for the same length.

Seedance. It makes the longest continuous clip on the platform, while Veo cuts off much earlier. The exact seconds are in the table above.
With a long clip, the price is multiplied by the seconds, so the gap between variants gets big right there. Run the shot on a cheaper variant first; if the composition works, then pay for the final.
Yes, but its resolution goes to waste: you can't see it on a phone strip. For this kind of content, what matters more is how many variants you can try, and there Seedance with its cheap variants is more practical.
This page compares the two brands with each other. The full technical card for each — all variants, their strengths and weaknesses, typical tasks and real examples from the community — is on its own page.
