Hailuo is one model, not a family. That's an advantage when you don't want to choose: there's no standard versus professional versus high-resolution, there's just Hailuo. For someone only starting to test whether AI video works for them, this is the shortest path to a first result.
Hailuo works at low resolutions. The exact values are in the table and they are noticeably below Kling's. The flip side is that the shot is made fast and costs little — at a per-second price, low resolution is the most direct way to reduce the bill.
Hailuo makes a clip longer than some significantly more expensive models. See the "Longest clip at once" row: the cheap entry here doesn't mean a short shot.
Kling offers tiers. A shot is run on the standard option until the composition is right, then repeated on the professional one for the final. The style stays the same because the brand is the same — something you can't do by switching from Hailuo to another model.
Kling works at resolutions that Hailuo doesn't offer at all. For a shot that will be cropped, enlarged or watched on a big screen, this is not cosmetic.
Kling accepts a negative description — the exclusions that save you runs when working with a product or a specific person.
Where Hailuo loses. Its resolution is the lowest among the video models here. On a TV or desktop the frame shows. Hailuo is also a single model: there's no way to pay more for a better result if the same scene didn't come out well — you can only switch brands and, with that, the style.
Where Kling loses. Kling costs more per second, and with video that adds up. For twenty tests of one shot, the difference isn't small. And even Kling's most expensive variant doesn't rescue a bad prompt — if the shot didn't work on the standard variant, the professional one rarely fixes it.
