AI images with Ideogram — versions, capabilities and uses

What is Ideogram

Ideogram is a generative model for creating images from text, developed by the company Ideogram AI. It was founded by researchers with experience in generative artificial intelligence, some of whom worked on well-known image generation projects at Google. From its very first appearance the model took its place among the most recognisable names in the field.

What sets Ideogram apart from most other models is its ability to write legible, correct text directly inside the image. For a long time this was generative AI’s weak spot — the letters came out distorted or meaningless. Ideogram tackled that problem head-on, and that is why it is the go-to choice for visuals in which words are part of the picture, not just decoration.

The model handles photorealistic scenes as well as illustration, graphic design and typography. On genkiki.com it is available through the AI Studio — entirely in your own language and right in the browser, with no software to install.

Versions and capabilities in generiram

In generiram, Ideogram is available in its newest generation — Ideogram V3 — in two working modes:

ModeWhat it does
Text to imageCreates a completely new image from a text description (prompt) alone.
Image editingChanges an existing image — replaces or repaints selected parts without regenerating the whole picture.

Text to image

This is the classic “text to image” mode. You describe in words what you want to see — scene, style, mood, colours and, if needed, a specific caption — and Ideogram V3 builds the matching image. The mode is especially strong when text has to appear in the frame: a poster headline, a brand name on a logo or lettering on packaging.

Image editing

In this mode you start from a finished image and change only a selected area — replacing an object, adding an element or fixing a detail, while the rest of the picture stays untouched. That is handy for precise corrections and for variations on a visual you already like, without starting from scratch.

Strengths

  • Text in the image. Ideogram’s main advantage — legible captions, headlines and logos inside the picture itself.
  • Flexible style. It handles a wide range of visual styles — from photorealism to flat illustration and graphic design.
  • Understanding the description. It follows the details of the prompt fairly precisely — objects, composition and mood.
  • Different aspect ratios. Suitable for a variety of formats — vertical, horizontal and square frames for different platforms.

What it is good for

  • Posters, flyers and advertising visuals with text in the frame.
  • Ideas and drafts for logos, lettering and brands.
  • Social media posts and covers.
  • Illustrations for articles, presentations and blogs.
  • Packaging, cards and typographic compositions.
  • Quick fixes and variations on existing images through the editing mode.

How to get started

Open the AI Studio on genkiki.com and pick Ideogram V3. For a new visual use the “text to image” mode and describe what you want — the clearer the description, the closer the result will be to your idea. If you already have an image and only want to change it in places, pick the “image editing” mode. The whole process is in your own language and happens in the browser, with nothing to install.

Erős ebben

  • The most reliable with TEXT: around 95% correct spelling, with a separate “Design” mode built precisely for typography
  • Strong on signs, packaging, labels and anything where the letters are the point
  • Rich in style — from poster to illustration, without losing the readability of the text
  • Predictable: the same description gives similar results

Gyenge ebben

  • Above about 60 characters of text in total in the picture it starts swallowing letters and squashing the layout
  • The output is raster only — no vector, so it can't be edited by curves
  • Its photorealism with people is behind the specialised ones
  • Slower than the fast models

Ne használd erre

  • Don't use it for a long text — above sixty or so characters it falls apart
  • Don't use it when you need an editable logo — vector is there for that
  • Don't use it for a close-up portrait

Tipikus feladatok

  • A sign, a label, packaging with readable text
  • A poster with a short text
  • A sleeve or a cover with a title
  • An advertising shot where the words carry the message
